Music is a wonderful thing. Combined with vaping, it can really enhance the experience of puffing away on your electronic cigarette and enjoying your preferred flavoured e liquid – all thanks to a few of your favourite tracks in the background.
From the Foo Fighters to Parkway Drive, the genres of Metal and Rock have dominated decades of music, even before magazines like the NME made the effort to highlight the best albums, songs and bands of all time – old and new.
So, in no particular order, we will be taking a look at just 5 of the best Metal and Rock songs to vape to in your free time.
The song Identity Disorder is just one of many great songs featuring on Of Mice & Men’s latest album, Restoring Force alongside other top tracks like Feels like Forever, Glass Hearts and Bones Exposed. The band finished recording in 2013 and finally released the album in 2014.
Wikipedia states that when questioned about the band’s choice of name, vocalist Austin Carlile responded “The book Of Mice and Men says ‘the well laid plans of mice and men often falter’. You make plans and they get screwed up. Jaxin Hall and I both had plans for life and they both got screwed up so now we’re making the most of what we can.”
A bit of a cliché but nonetheless a great song. It is part of their newest album Sempiternal, where Bring Me the Horizon’s lead vocalist Oli Sykes is said to have written all of the lyrics whilst other band members contributed significantly to the song writing. In addition, it is also noted that apart from their album Count your Blessings, the band has always retreated to a secluded area in order to avoid any distractions during the song writing process.
This Foo Fighters’ song was written by Dave Grohl who was the founder of the band. Grohl was originally drummer for Nirvana, and is said to have been hugely influenced in his song writing by Nirvana’s lead vocalist/guitarist (Wikipedia). He says “Through Kurt, I saw the beauty of minimalism and the importance of music that’s stripped down”. Interestingly, Grohl’s group say that they actually got their name from the aerial phenomena commonly reported by aircraft pilots during World War II. We now know these phenomena were known as foo fighters.
Now it’s time to just unwind and slow the day down… or so you think. Known for their dramatic imagery and diverse sound, Avenged Sevenfold or A7X have cited many bands as their stylistic influence, including Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Alice In Chains, Misfits, Korn and Rage Against The Machine. In addition, to this date the band have released a total of six studio albums alongside one live album; they have also successfully sold more than 8 million albums all over the world.
The River is just one of many great Parkway Drive songs to be released onto the album Atlas. Parkway Drive has numerous band influences including Killswitch Engage, Unearth and The Offspring. Lead vocalist Winston McCall, has been said to have a younger brother who has also joined the hard core scene as a vocalist in his band, 50 Lions.
