Although there is still a vast range of e-liquid flavours on the market today, TPD (Tobacco Product Directive) regulations limited the size of nicotine-containing e-liquids to 10ml bottles back in 2017.
This meant that vapers would have to buy several 10ml bottles to get the same amount of e-liquid that they were used to – until shortfill e-liquids were introduced.
Just as the name implies, a ‘shortfill’ is an underfilled bottle of e-juice that doesn’t contain any nicotine, leaving room for a nicotine shot or two, depending on the bottle size. Because the juice is nicotine-free, these e-liquids don’t fall under TPD regulations, so can be sold in bigger bottles.
