Is There A Difference Between E-Liquid And Vape Juice?

Is there a difference between e-liquid and vape juice? - Cloudstix

With so many different terms used in the world of vaping, it can be difficult to know what they mean – but is there really a difference between e-liquid and vape juice?

When shopping for a liquid for your vape device, you’ll have come across a variety of different terms. Some of them can be confusing, especially if you’re new to the world of vaping.

Vape juice, e-liquid, e-juice – but what do they all mean? Is there a difference between them?

Nope!

They’re simply interchangeable terms which all refer to the liquid you fill your e-cigarette with.

Regardless, we’ll take a closer look at e-liquids and everything you need to know about them in this article.

What is vape juice?

Vape juice, or e-liquid, is what you’ll fill your e-cigarette with. This is what gives vapour its flavour. It can also contain nicotine, if this is something you want from your e-liquid.

When using your device, the battery provides energy to heat your e-liquid, transforming it into a smooth vapour when inhaled.

E-liquids offer complete versatility, allowing you to experiment with different flavours and a selection of high, medium, low, or completely nicotine free e-juices.

What does e-liquid contain?

Most approved bottles of e-liquid in the UK are comprised of four main ingredients:

  • Propylene Glycol (PG) – This is what helps your e-liquid carry nicotine and flavours. If you crave an intense throat hit, you should favour the PG content in your e-juice.
  • Vegetable Glycerine (VG) – This ingredient helps to produce vapour, so if you’re a cloud chaser looking to achieve huge vapour clouds, favour the VG content in your e-liquid.
  • Food flavourings – This one is pretty self-explanatory. The flavour of your e-liquid is what you’ll be able to experiment with the most.
  • Nicotine – If you’re trying to quit smoking, it’s important to manage your cravings appropriately, and the nicotine content of your vape juice will help you do this.

How do I choose the right vape juice?

Choosing a vape juice can often be difficult, especially if it’s your first time shopping for them.

The hundreds of flavours, ratios, and nicotine strengths you’re faced with can be overwhelming, but once you have an idea of what you’re looking for, it should be a little easier.

  • Flavours

The flavour of your e-liquid allows you the most freedom to experiment, and to find a couple of your favourites to stick with throughout your vaping journey.

No matter if you’re a lover of all things sweet, or you’re looking for a vape juice that packs an icy cool punch, you’re certain to find the perfect flavour for your tastes.

  • VG/PG ratios

As we’ve established, VG is what allows your e-liquid to produce huge clouds of vapour, while PG is what helps to liquid carry nicotine and flavours, as well as creating a more intense throat hit.

There’s some wiggle room for customisation, and you can choose an e-liquid that favours VG over PG in a ratio of 60:40 or higher and vice versa, as well as a 50:50 liquid for the perfect balance.

It’s important to check what your device will be able to withstand before buying or using your e-liquid.

  • Nicotine strengths

The nicotine strength you choose obviously depends on how much nicotine you need, which is determined by how heavy a smoker you are (or were).

If you class yourself as a heavy smoker, smoking more than 15 cigarettes per day, you’ll be best going for 18mg, the highest nicotine strength that we offer here at Cloudstix.

Any less than this and you’ll want to opt for a lower strength, such as 12mg or 6mg. If you’re a non-smoker, you shouldn’t be considering anything more than a nicotine-free liquid.
